ทุกวันนี้โลกออนไลน์เติบโตขึ้นมาก สิ่งที่หลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้เลยคือการทำการตลาดออนไลน์ SEM หรือ Search Engine Marketing หมายถึง การทำการตลาดผ่านเสิร์ชเอนจิ้น (google) คือทำให้เว็บไซต์เราปรากฎอยู่ใน เสิร์ชเอนจิ้น นั้นๆอยู่อันดับแรกๆ จะทำให้มีลูกค้าเห็นและสามารถคลิกเข้ามาได้ง่าย
การทำ SEM หรือ Search Engine Marketing
แบ่งออกได้เป็น 2 วิธี ย่อยๆ ครับ นั่นคือ Search Engine Advertising กับ Search Engine Optimization เราจะไปดูความหมายของคำ 2 คำนี้กัน
Search Engine Advertising
หมายถึง การซื้อโฆษณาหรือ ลงโฆษณาในเสิร์ชเอนจิ้น เพื่อให้ร้านออนไลน์เว็บไซต์ของเราแสดงให้ ผู้ใช้เสิร์ชเอนจิ้นเห็น กรณีของเสิร์ชเอนจิ้นอันดับหนึ่งอย่าง Google ก็ จะเรียกโปรแกรมโฆษณาของตัวเองว่า Google Ads เมื่อเราจ่ายเงินลง โฆษณาผ่านโปรแกรม Google Ads โฆษณาของเราจะไปแสดงให้ผู้ใช้ เห็นในหน้าผลการค้นหาของ Google (ดูภาพประกอบด้านล่าง) และปกติ แล้วการลงโฆษณากับ Search Engine Advertising นี้ จะมีการคิดค่า โฆษณาแบบ PPC (Pay-Per-Click) ซึ่งหมายถึงเราจะจ่ายเงินค่าโฆษณา เมื่อมีคนคลิกโฆษณาครับ
Search Engine Optimization
หมายถึง การทำให้ร้าน ออนไลน์เว็บไซต์ของเราขึ้นไปแสดงผลอยู่ในลำดับตันๆ ในหน้าผลการค้นหาของเสิร์เอนจิ้นเวลามีผู้ใช้เสิร์ชด้วยคำค้นที่เกี่ยวข้อง ซึ่งการทำ Search Engine Optimization นี้เป็นการทำ Search Engine Marketing แบบที่ไม่ต้องเสียงิน และคำย่อของ Search Engine Optimization ก็คือ SEO นั่นเอง โดยการทำ SEO นี้มีเทคนิคมากมายหลายอย่างครับ แต่หลักๆ ก็จะเป็นการปรับแต่งร้านออนไลน์/เว็บไซต์ของเราให้สอดคล้องกับการทำงานของเสิร์ชเอนจิ้น เพื่อให้เสิร์ชเอนจิ้นชื่นชอบและจัดลำดับ หรือแรงกิ้ง (Ranking) ของเราไว้สูงๆ ซึ่งจะช่วยให้มีคนหาร้านออนไลน์เว็บไซต์ของเราเจอมากขึ้น
